Gilligans' Island Luau is an intimate luau experience and is the only luau in Kihei on Maui.

Our luau is less than one quarter the size of the average luau in Hawaii. So, every seat is a great view of the show.

The show is a mesmerizing journey through various types of Polynesian culture presented in a fun and engaging format. Through storytelling, audience participation and remarkable performances, we present an experience unavailable anywhere else.

This was very disappointing. I spent $1200 for a family of 6 (4 adults, 2 small children) to be offered packaged rolls, gummy rice, carrot sticks and store bought cake. Drinks were served in paper Coke cups and cocktails in ordinary plastic cups. Nothing unique or cultural about this dinner. The show was ok at best but definitely not worth what we spent. The show itself took a while to begin and at first no indication that there was going to be a show making our entire party and two other families question staying. One family did leave in disappointment right as food was served. I’ve been to previous Hawaiian luau’s and this would never rank against them. I wish I could get my money back. The food was not even worth 30-40$ per plate.

Sorry you did not enjoy your experience. I wish you had brought your concerns to the attention of management during your visit rather than saying nothing and leaving a bad review after the fact. Drinks are served in plastic and paper cups because when we used glass ones at least one got dropped and broken nearly every luau, creating a hazard for guests. The buffet consists of many items, the rolls are hawaiian sweet rolls, the rice is hawaiian style white rice, the cakes are baked at a local bakery (cookies are baked fresh in house daily) and the carrot sticks are a side for the hummus. There is also teriyaki chicken, kalua pork, sesame ginger mahi mahi, poi, fresh pineapple, mixed veggies, molokai sweet potatoes, and lomi lomi salmon. There are local musicians playing music as everyone is seated and while people go thru the buffet line. The show starts after people have had enough time to go through the line, as is normal with most all luaus, so guests don't miss the show while they are getting food. We are a smaller, more intimate, more authentic venue than the "disney-fied" version you see at some of the larger venues. Again, I do wish you had asked to speak with a manager during your visit so we could have had the opportunity to address and correct and actual issues there may have been. If you have specific concerns you would like to address please contact us directly, constructive criticism is always welcome as we strive to continuously improve and customer satisfaction is a top priority. My husband and I really enjoyed the luau. We liked that it was set up like buffet style for dinner, great dancers and story to go along with it and it was fun to be able to try the dances at the end.
