Your expert guides will lead you on a journey across Mendenhall Lake where you will paddle together with a small group past icebergs, giant waterfalls, and wildlife. On your way to the ice, you will be surrounded by breathtaking scenery of mountain peaks nestled in the Tongass National Forest. Upon landing the canoe at a remote beach site, your guides will safely lead you on an interpretive hike around the rocky surfaces located directly in front of the glacier. Awesome experience. I took my 72 year old mother and we had a great time making memories. We lucked out and had excellent clear weather, smooth water, and great views. It was on the higher end of my mother's comfort zone, particularly walking over the uneven terrain, but we took it slow and our guides made sure we were safe the whole time. Speaking of, Sarah and Boots did an excellent job. They made for a relaxed, fun atmosphere, gave some interesting information, answered questions, took pictures--everything you could want. Every aspect of this is highly recommended!

Boots and David were great in leading the adventure. My husband and I had a great time exploring the lake and glacier. It is sad to see the glacier receding so quickly. I highly recommend this tour to get a close-up view of the pretty blue glaciers.
