I really enjoyed this tour. Our guides were Allie and Mo and both were lovely. Allie was very knowledgable and did a great job staying courteous to another guest that was annoying me to no end! lol!
I was nervous about canoeing for that far a distance as I had never done so, and am not very athletic, but it was ok. Tough at times- but I made it and wasn’t terribly sore the next day or anything. Walking on the glacier was the highlight though. I wish we were able to hike higher up, as most of the time spent on the glacier was very low and we didn’t really get much of a chance to get up high. I loved the experience, but felt like we didn’t get to see much beyond what was right at the base. I think that is kind of a pro/con when deciding between this and the helicopter walk on the glacier. I think we probably got to see more interesting things hiking up it, but we also didn’t get to really feel like we were on top of it if that makes sense. I will say canoeing up to it give you an up close view that I doubt the helicopter could compare to. All rain gear and hiking gear needed was provided. I highly recommend taking a trekking pole that that offer as I felt much more stable with it.
While I completely understand that the tour never guarantees entrance to an ice cave due to safety, I think it is a bit dishonest to say entrance to the ice caves is not guaranteed due to safety when in fact there currently are no ice caves. We were told that all the ice caves collapsed last season. To advertise with the pictures of the caves and to not post an update that there is no possibility of an ice cave right now feels shady. I think the tour is still great and totally worth doing, but I think they are also misrepresenting the current state of the tour and that that should be corrected on their advertising materials and website.

Thank you for your review. We are happy to hear that you conquered your nervousness about canoeing. What a cool place to do your first ever canoe ride!
We apologize if you thought ice caves were a guaranteed feature on our tour. We do not advertise or market it as a part of our adventure on our website, social media, or other outlets that we have control of. We cannot control photos that guests have taken on our tour and have posted to media outlets. Ice caves are always opening and closing, forming and collapsing throughout the season along with other features. Glaciers are forever changing and that is what makes them so unique. Our guides are on the ice everyday and are constantly looking for new features that mother nature has created to wow our guests and we feel honored to share this with our guests.
Thank you again for adventuring and exploring with us.
