Maximum Height: Guests over 6'3" will not be able to use the rudders to steer and may be uncomfortable in the kayak

We did the Glacier View Sea Kayaking tour with Adelheide - she focused on safety and fun. It was our first time kayaking but it was easy to stay with the rest of our group - about six kayaks in all. Adelheide shared interesting tidbits about the area and pointed out bald eagles and where whales tend to be. We highly recommend this tour!

My husband and I loved our kayaking adventure. Our guide Anna was a delight- very personable, friendly, and full of helpful information! By the way, hi Anna’s mom! She misses you- give her a call and tell her Amy and Cameron say hello! The view of the Mendenhall Glacier ~6 miles away was stunning from the water. We were fortunate to have a rather calm ocean, scattered clouds, and a clear view of the glacier and surrounding area. We saw a few sea lions pop up from a distance, and we saw a handful of eagles soaring around and hanging out in trees as well. They had us all wear water skirts and provided waterproof boots, so we stayed nice and dry the whole adventure. My hands did get wet while paddling, so leave your gloves until after. They also provide a safe place to store shoes and backpacks, and a snack and hot cider after. The life jackets had a zip pocket, so that was perfect for holding a phone for photos. Some people wore necklace phone holders- certainly a good idea if you’re concerned about dropping your phone in the water. If you trust your motor skills, the zip pocket was fine for storing my phone when I wasn’t taking photos. This is a very beautiful way to experience the wetlands and see the glacier from the ocean, and a great arm workout too. You feel like you’re kayaking inside a postcard! I highly recommend it!

This was such a fun excursion, and not too physically taxing. Lia, our guide, did an excellent job showing us all the beautiful aspects of the glacier area. She was extremely knowledgeable and I would highly recommend this excursion.
