John provides a well articulated history of the area coupled with some truly outstanding restaurants. Each establishment was nothing but friendly and expertly ushered us through their selected cuisine. I would recommend John's Peachtree Food Tours to anyone interested in learning a bit about the area whilst diving into some local delights.

we were in Atlanta to celebrate our 75th birthday year and picked John's Peachtree food tour and we were glad we did! the food choices were excellent in each restaurant but John enhanced the tour with his many short stories on the history and folklore of Atlanta in Midtown. The walk was doable ( I personally had a foot problem but John made sure I didn't lag too far behind) and even with the windy/rainy weather we had, John made it all very interesting. The food and drink at each place was excellent - love the shrimp 'n grits at Einstein's. The donut specialty was so yummy - wish we had time to find the bakery that makes them! Our only regret was that we did this on our last day instead of on our first day! The last stop was for take-home later and they came all the way back to Massachusetts and thoroughly enjoyed the next day!

Hi Arlene! Thanks for taking a few moments to write a review...and lovely it is! Considering it was a cold, blustery day on Peachtree Street, here's to remembering all the food and fun!! Gotta love the "excellent" food choices but please be reminded that I make up most of my "many short stories"!! That way when you come back to Atlanta...and take my Tour again...the food will still be fabulous but the stories will all be different! Ha! TA readers: For me, one of the most important points of Arlene's review is please do my (any!) Food Tour as soon as you arrive in your destination city. You'll get great dining advice, lots of tips on fun things to do, and answers to any and all questions you may have. All travel choices have a dollar attached so get the best value possible. Nothing like a huge dinner bill for average food!! Arlene, as for your travels next year for your birthdays, I'd love to get some photos of food and fun from Cuba! Really!! My best! John

I am a firm believer that the best way to experience a city's culture is through its food. Peachtree food tours give you that and more! Where other food tours squeeze a large group into small compact time frames with bite size tastings Peachtree tours allows one to truly embrace their food tour experience. John, the host, is amazing and I definitely appreciate his attention to the design of his tours. The tour made me feel like I was meeting up with lifelong friends for dinner. I was able to engage with everyone on the tour, enjoy some unique eats, and get a sense of what Atlanta’s midtown is all about. On this tour you won’t be rushed left hungry, or thirsty. Ah-h-h-h.... "allows one to truly embrace their....experience." More and more travelers are looking for an experience that includes something more than just walking around, looking at the sites, and then trying to figure out where to grab a bite. Yep! Thank you, Luv, for the shout out regarding my idea of a Food Tour!! Spot on! I keep my guest count low (8) so that we all can chat, share stories, all the while creating "community". Then there's the "unique eats", a few cocktails if you so choose, and all of the other suggestions of where to eat not only in my Midtown neighborhood but elsewhere in Atlanta. Ha! "you won't be rushed..." It's the South and we're rarely in a hurry! Nope! Not only is a Peachtree Food Tour a gentle stroll...but we would never send you home hungry! Four lovely seated restaurant stops and then we end up "shopping". For food! For later!! Luv, you're the best! Thanks again! John
