I wish we would have thought to do this earlier in our trip. It is such a great introduction to the area and introduced us to places we would have liked to spend more time.
Doing a tour like this in a small group is great. You get a chance to know your tour mates and John. John took great care of us. He learned our names, let my mother borrow a scarf, made sure we were standing in the sun to stay warm when stopping, helped us get to know our tour mates by engaging us all in conversations, offered to provide recommendations throughout our trip, sent trip suggestions in advance...
There was so much good food. There was a variety of food and drink making it interesting. I enjoyed it all, even tried things outside of my comfort zone. This was a great way to spend a morning/afternoon. This was my first food tour and now I will seek out similar excursions in different places.
**NOTE: If John suggests how to be ready for the tour LISTEN! He predicted the weather would be cooler than we expected and was right (I was cold!). He said to come hungry and he was right (we quickly became full).

Hello TRC!!
To folks that are new to Food Tours, this is the most often repeated comment. "I wish we would have thought to do this earlier in our trip.".
Actually...if you read through TRC's review, you'll quickly learn why the above statement is so important. Let me help sort through all of the restaurant recommendations that appear online. How about a local's perspective?
Oh-h-h....and providing a scarf to a chilly guest...and a Mom...is what makes my foodie adventure be some kind of special. :)
Thanks, TRC, for the lovely review!!
My best! John
