My only regret about my experience with John is that I haven't posted this review sooner! If you're a new resident of Midtown trying to get a better idea of your hood or a supposedly seasoned veteran foodie who is willing to learn something new, sign up for a Peachtree Food Tour!
As someone hungry and anti social, PFT was a perfect way to meet some new folks from various places and quite literally stuff myself while getting a thoughtful, insightful neighborhood analysis (and some accurate city historical info) from John.
The best part for me, besides our visit to my New Favorite Italian Restaurant, was our start inside of a stunning historic church, where a recent filming took place. I'd run and walked by that sanctuary for years without setting foot and that, along with our visit to Pricci gave this old seasoned resident a fresh perspective on a place I thought I knew!
Be ready for over 1 mile of walking and eating. And let your charming and gracious host know in advance if you are avoiding alcohol and meat and such. He will take care of you and make sure you are stuffed, no matter what.
Also there are doughnut burgers...At a bar I'd frequented before but had no clue they offered such a thing..and that sucker is TASTY!

Wow, Jillian! What a terrific review! I made sure that you had lots of yummy food, mixed in a few cocktails, introduced you to some lovely folks...and then there was a chance to get inside a gorgeous, historic 1920's church. I can't pull that off on every tour but I sure try hard to get my guests in there.
For sure, I work hard to "take care of" of all my guests and it all pretty much starts at the the phone call I place to all purchasers a day or two before every tour. We chat about the weather, the meeting place, "Eat a VERY light breakfast!", dress comfortably...all of this intended as my first opportunity to get to know you. Any tour is so much more fun when you quickly feel like you're among new friends.
Thanks for sharing with other TA readers what they are in for when they take my little foodie adventure!
My best! John
