Promenade sur la rivière Minneapolis : une visite audioguidée

Aperçu
Welcome to Minneapolis, the home of Nerf Balls, the singer and songwriter Prince, and, yes, Zubaz pants. On this self-guided audio tour, you'll stroll along the Mississippi River. Along the way, you’ll hear about:

• The history of the milling industry in Minneapolis
• The massive Washburn A Mill explosion of 1878
• The 35W Bridge collapse of 2007
• The secret history of "Funkytown"
• An ugly mansion with 86 TVs
• Cougar attacks
• The untimely death of Tiny Tim
• The hiring of a hitman in St. Paul
• ”Untalented but adventurous” German artists, to quote the author Jonathan Raban
• How long it takes a single drop of water to travel down the Mississippi – and how long it takes a person to make the same journey

This walking tour can be enjoyed on location or even virtually at home with VoiceMap's Continuous Play function which disables the GPS playback.

The tour covered parts of Minneapolis that I wanted to know more about, so thumbs up for that. When the app worked, it worked well and the speaker imparted interesting information. However, the way the narration went, it was hard to tell if the app had crashed or if it was just paused until we'd reached the next destination; we missed a few stops' worth of narration that way. The only solution seemed to be to close and reopen the app, which was a hassle because we had to do it repeatedly. Also, parts of the route were closed for construction. This is not at all the fault of the audio tour, but I'm not sure how we could have found that info out first. We were able to skirt the construction and pick back up, but it was a bummer not to be able to take the river paths. Finally, and this is largely because it was hella hot and we were walking with our dogs, a loop rather than a one way would have been nice. If you park your car at the start of the walk, as we did, you're going to have to walk back to it. Not a deal breaker, but something to keep in mind.

Loved the tour! Beautiful place and very interesting information. Found the concept to be really convenient. You tour at your own pace and at the hours that suit you better. Constant feedback as if you were actually accompanied by a tour guide. Excellent and easy directions. Lots of interesting facts.
