It is difficult to decide which company to book if you are looking to go whitewater rafting. We were looking for a good safety record and this company seemed to be good. You meet in town and then head onto a school bus to head to the launch site. The bus rides seemed longer than the ride down the Colorado River. If you want more time on the actual river, the full day tour would be better BUT don’t expect more rapids. The rapids were supposedly class 2/3 but they felt more like 2. The whitewater rafting was a little disappointing in terms of their size - not sure of it was because there was so much more volume in the river or because our guide was trying to avoid the bigger parts of the rapids. Our guide was Leaky; he was entertaining with his silly jokes. We were lucky because we saw some awesome wildlife - bald eagles, blue herons and wild turkeys. Ryan also told some corny/silly jokes on the bus ride to the launch site. The guides were friendly. If you want to see Moab’s beauty from the water and want some adventure, this was a good way to do that. It is definitely safe for those with young children. The half day tour is good for those that don’t want to be baking in the sun for too long.

The Colorado River in Moab is indeed known for its stunning beauty and offers a great adventure for all ages. Regarding the length of the bus ride, we understand that it may feel about equal to the rafting on the 1/2 day which is why we, generally, recommend the full Fisher Towers trip. The full trip does change the ratio of driving to river time, there’s a delicious lunch AND there are 3 additional rapids! The water is always right under the boats and we encourage all our guests to splash or swim to keep cool and avoid baking in the sun. We 100% recommend the full Fisher Towers trip as it strikes a better balance of prep, travel and river time. The 1/2 day trip often feels short. We apologize for any disappointment you felt with the size of the rapids during your trip. Rapids' intensity does vary depending on factors like water volume and guiding decisions. Our aim is to provide exciting experiences while prioritizing safety for all our guests. The spring of 2023 was a big year for run-off and although size may not have seemed formidable there was additional risk if someone went for a swim. Took my five kids. We had a great time. All the guides were friendly and helpful. Our guide Jonas did a great job. Scenery, rapids, and trip in general were great!
