I was debating which jeep tour company to book with during our trip to Sedona and came across Arizona Safari Jeep Tours. I liked that they had a variety of different tours with varying lengths and locations, and that they were the only locally owned tour company, whereas all the other jeep tour companies are now owned by big corporations.
I think that made a huge difference as we really received a bespoke experience with Nate, our driver. He picked us up from our hotel right on time, and we began our journey with one other traveler. My teenage kids and husband were looking forward to this adventure, and Nate and his driving skills did not disappoint. He began the tour by giving us a historical background on the town of Sedona and then as we began climbing the mountain, he pointed out all the different types of plants. Who knew there were over 2,000 kinds of cactai in Sedona??? We even got to taste the nectar of one of the blooming flowers (forgot the name), which tasted so sweet! My kids really enjoyed Nate's jokes too!
We went on the Mogollon Rim tour at sunset from 6-8 pm, which was a great time. The setting sun creates such beautiful colors off of the red rocks and the temps were slightly cooler and more comfortable. We got to see Snoopy Rock, Cathedral Rock, the Merry go Round Rock and many more. We stopped a the top of the mountain and climbed on foot a short distance for an incredible viewpoint. We took so many photos. Nate was kind to take many photos of our family too. Also, he offered to stop anytime while driving for us to take pictures.
I highly recommend taking a jeep tour to gain a different perspective on the beautiful landscape of Sedona, but be sure to go with Arizona Safari Jeep Tours and ask for Nate! You won't be disappointed in the custom and local service they have to offer.
