I was really looking forward to doing a Columbia River / Mt Hood excursion, and I was excited to do this tour. Other tour companies wanted a minimum of 4 people but this tour company required a minimum of 2 people.
I was picked up at my downtown hotel, and I immediately noticed how incredibly old the van is. When I sat in my seat it was worn out, and the armrest had electric tape wrapped around it. I looked at the mileage of the van, and it had over 304,000 miles. That should tell you how long the van has been in use.
The tour guide - John(?) - is a nice guy and very knowledgeable about the tour. However he does not look the part of a tour guide.
The tour itself went along the Columbia River, and the scenery is gorgeous! We had a number of stops along the way with one of those stops being Multnomah Falls. This is where I got irritated. We were given our passes to the Falls, given a few instructions, and then given a small amount of time - about 45 minutes - and then back to the van so we can go to the next stop. Hardly anytime to walk up to the bridge or buy souvenirs at the Falls.
This is how the rest of the trip went. A stop, instructions, dropped off, and then a small amount of time to really do anything.
Picture perfect day but this tour company has a long way to go to being perfect starting with some effort in appearance of the tour guide, making an effort in length of time at stops, especially at Multnomah Falls, and refurbishing the interior of the van.

We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your day. We do need to limit the amount of time per stop, because there are many places to stop during the day. This is the first bad review that we have ever received about John, he receives more compliments from guests than any other Tour Guide that we have because he is wonderful at his job. I will look into the van that was on your tour and make sure that the armrest is repaired.
