I’ve taken many tours in my life, but this was by far the most I’ve learned in an 8 hour period. Our tour guide, Peter, is an amazing communicator with an off-the-cuff charm. A native Portlander, Peter did not regurgitate information from guide books, but had in-depth scientific and historical knowledge of the land - from geology, botany, and biology to the culture and human history of this area. I was thoroughly impressed. If you’re a science buff, I guarantee you that you will not find a more interesting tour. He was also very helpful at each stop, making sure that we knew all the choices available. The tour felt flexible and unrushed. I brought my parents, who are non-native English speakers and they also just loved it.

Pete was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. He gave us the freedom to explore on our own and had great stories to share about the area!

Peter is very knowledgeable and passionate about his home state. We saw great scenery and beautiful waterfalls, and stopped along the way to taste local produce.
