The Guide was very knowledgeable, and kept the tour moving along. However, the food was not at all what was anticipated. The starter was pralines and caramels moving to fried catfish, hush puppies, French fries and an alcoholic ice cream drink - at 10:30 AM. From there we had Goo Goo Clusters and moved to fried alligator and fried pickles. To say that the food was a total disappointment would be an understatement. The fellow tour members were all singularly unimpressed with the food choices - something made especially acute when you consider what a vibrant and innovative food scene the City of Nashville actually has. I would not recommend this tour due to the relatively poor choices for food made by the operator.
We went as a large group, 14 people, whose spouses were in a meeting. We walked the easy tour, received great local knowledge and got to eat and drink along the way. Honestly, we were stuffed by the last stop. The tour takes an easy pace and you learn some fun facts along the way. You get to see the river, symphony, Ryman, and some other stops and the information we all found interesting but not too much after a long night of socializing. I would recommend you do this in the beginning of your trip to get a lay of the land too.
Kristine was an amazing tour guide. I would highly recommend starting off your trip to Nashville with this delicious and informative walk around the city. You definitely get the lay of the land. We went back to several of the places highlighted and they did not disappoint a second time around -- from amazing beer selections to incredible music. Our group was particularly awesome and we ended up hanging out into the evening. Plus, Kristine had some great suggestions for other places to checkout in the city, which we were glad we did and probably would not have found on our own. Come hungry, leave happy!
