Took my family of 4 on this Charleston tour during our recent stay in Myrtle Beach which consisted of a bus ride to Charleston, a carriage tour, a harbor tour, with a visit to Boone Plantation. Nothing special about the bus ride to Charleston, the bus driver was silent except for the occasional instruction regarding the bus schedule. It would have been nice if he was a little more social, and possibly provide information about Myrtle Beach/Charleston. In other words be a part of the tour experience and not just be the bus driver. At our first stop, we waited about a half hour for the carriages to show up. The carriage ride was short although the driver was very informative regarding some of Charleston's history and architecture. They dropped us off near the City Market; however, there was really no time to look around before having to walk the 4-5 blocks back to the bus (we were told the bus would leave at 11:15 and would not wait). We felt rushed and wondered why the carriages didn't drop us off near the bus instead of us having to find our own way back which would have been preferable. The harbor cruise was nice and the captain very informative and interesting; however, participants of this tour will be placed inside the ship and not topside where the view is better. The lunch served was simple and adequate but could have been much better. We enjoyed the plantation part of the tour and learning more about this part of Charleston's history. Overall, the tour was adequate but nothing to write home about, and probably not very interesting if you have small children. My advice is to stay in Myrtle Beach and either dedicate a day or two to visit Charleston or make it a separate trip.
