Mystic Seaport Museum Aventure

We were there for 4 hours and wishing that we had more time. We're 3 adults and one teenage and we all learned something new.We didn't have time to go to the planetarium show due to limited capacity.

Stopped here on the way to Rhode Island. Had a nice day viewing the old ships, buildings and learning about how shipping use to be. Due to Covid there weren't a lot of people there which was nice as it gave us time to walk around and see everything. Worth a stop if you are passing by.

Everything was closed!! The place is very nice but when I entered the information about the places to visit in Mystic, it mentioned The Museum was open all the other places inside the compound were also closed. Therefore we just walked around. I understand the closures, but I didn’t like that appears as open. The surroundings are nice.

Dear Ceciliab613, Thank you for taking the time to submit your review. During our off-peak season in the months of November and December Mystic Seaport is open Thursday- Sunday from 10am-4pm. Grounds close at 5pm. We are closed Monday through Wednesday during this time. This information is posted on our website as well as on the the ticketing page where guests buy tickets online. On Thursday-through Sunday Guests can explore 3 tallships and go below deck on the Charles W. Morgan- the last authentic wooden whaling vessel in the world. Guests can also explore the Henry B. duPont shipyard where we are currently working on vessels Shenandoah and Pilot. Many of the shops and buildings in our maritime village are also open. In the north part of Campus in the Thompson Exhibition building we have an exhibit called "A Way with Wood" and another building contains an wonderful exhibit called Voyaging in the Wake of the whalers. We also have an exhibit on sailor folkart called Sailor Made and this weekend we are opening up a re-designed exhibit on historic ship's figureheads. With each ticket comes a free planetarium show (we offer 3 daily) and a free hardbound book as a gift. Cecilia, I am sorry you did not get the best experience out of your visit and if you would like to contact me directly, I would like to get a better sense of where we fell short. I would also like to make things right so that you get the best experience the next time you visit. I can be contacted at 860 572-0711. Respectfully, Gabriel Gresko
