Firstly upon arrivial at departure point they had no record of our booking, after some phone calls etc they sorted it out. First part, the city tour was horrible. It was freezing cold, windy and raining and we were all put on an open air bus and given plastic ponchos to wear. So impossible to take photos. Not much to seen in Houston city except buildings, as all the shops etc are underground. Very dissappointing. Then change bus to the trip to Nasa. Where we were left to fend for ourselves with no guide.
First onto an open shuttle after a 30min wait, just to see a huge empty car park with buildings. Then shuffle into a building to see the Mission control centre. What a dissapointment. Back onto shuttle again to take us back after looking at a Spacecraft. in a hanger. that was good. Then back to the entry point to look around the space exhibits. Getting lunch was a nightmare, queing for over 30 mins for food and then no seats at all. Overall a very dissapointing tour and not worth the money.
If you have been to the Space centre in Orlando, don't bother with this tour...NO comparrison

I went to the Johnson Space Center with my children, and my nieces and nephews. We were there with 13 kids ranging in age from 5-15. There is something to do for all the ages. I highly recommend going to NASA's page to plan your trip because there is a lot to do! We spent one full day there, and we still didn't get to everything. All the kids are already begging to go back so we can finish seeing all the sights. The favorite for the kids was the virtual reality rides. There are 2. One is $5 and the other is $7. The $5 ride (a rocket, I think) was the favorite. Those of us not on the ride were able to watch the riders on a tv screen outside the ride. Even watching the other riders was fun! On Fridays, they have an astronaut come and talk in the morning and the afternoon. The kids were super excited to meet an actual astronaut. Our astronaut was funny and interesting. We all enjoyed the tour guide at the Starship Gallery. He was FULL of interesting facts and tidbits. My son loved the story about using duct tape on the moon! There is a cafeteria area with a pretty decent selection of foods to choose from. The prices are a bit high, but not too bad. (I've seen worse at other attractions). We ordered the pizza, and were pleasantly surprised at how good it was. You can visit NASA and spend just a couple of hours (and it would absolutely be worth it!), or you can go and spend 2 days. We will definitely be going back!

During a recent trip to Houston we went to see the Houston Space Center. It was interesting for children and adults. There were activites in the children's section with live experiements and talks. We were there in peak time so it was definitely better to arrive early as our tram tour wait was only 45 minutes. However later in the afternoon the queues were much longer. We found the tram tour to see Saturn V in Rocket Park engaging. Its great to see in real life to realise the size and magnitude. There was lots to do and we felt that in a day we didnt do enough. The center is open from 10 - 5pm.
