We had a very interesting walk around most of the Yale campus and learned much about unique history of campus locations and activities of the past. Unfortunately the cemetery was closed during our visit so that part of the tour had to be improvised. Otherwise, our guide, John, was very knowledgeable and personable while touting our rather large group around.

John was such an excellent and enthusiastic guide with vast knowledge of New Haven/Yale history! He has such a great sense of humor! Absolutely LOVED the tour and would do it again!

We enjoyed our tour throughly! Our guide (whose name I am sadly forgetting, a lovely man in a kilt), regaled us with stories of the city's history and more macabre moments. He was happy to be flexible, as we were running a couple minutes late to find parking (advice to others, give yourself plenty of time and expect to park quite a ways away from the meeting spot if it's a busy evening downtown). I've been on ghost tours in other cities that really leaned on the gore and gimmicks. This one was nice and balanced for ghost- believers and skeptics alike, and just relied on good storytelling (dark conspiracies, spooky stories, slices of life/death, and some more comic mishaps). It was especially interesting to learn how the history of the "town vs. gown" has played out over the centuries, and ways people have experienced the supernatural in this uniquely American city.
