I did the Garden District Tour as well as the Family Fun Tour of the French Quarter with Libby. Meeting up was easy. Libby is very knowledgeable and passionate about New Orleans. I learned so much about the history, culture, and people. Rather than listing off lots of dates and facts, she imparts her knowledge through interesting stories. I would have loved to have spent the whole day with her and highly recommend this tour company. Remember to bring a hat, camera and water!

Thank you for reviewing! You were so flexible and I am glad that we got to spend TWO mornings together. We at Lucky Bean all agree that the stories of a place are its true treasure and that the best way of understanding a culture is through its stories. Thanks for touring and please come back for more stories!

I ended up being the only one on this tour, but the guide, James, was gracious enough to go ahead with it nonetheless. I'm incredibly grateful that he did because I learned a lot, not only about the cemetery and garden district but also about New Orleans history in general. I'm sure that I now know more about the area than most locals do! He is N incredibly knowledgable and gracious guide, stopping frequently to see if I had any questions or if I would like my photo taken anywhere. I highly recommend this this tour! Do yourself a favor and book it now!

Thanks Jeremy! James is a great guide (I trained him myself!) and just a fun person to walk around with. I'm so glad you got to take a tour of the Garden District and the cemetery while you were in New Orleans, and I hope you come back and tour with us again!

The guide, Libby, was both knowledgeable and patient, taking us to several different architectural styles of buildings in this historical district. She took the time to discuss how several of the houses had gone through different family's of ownership as well as explaining what changes had transpired through these different owners. The old live oaks make the sidewalks very uneven and I recommend sturdy walking shoes or at least a recognition of the uneven surfaces. A highlight of the tour was Lafayette Cemetary and the explanation of the social clubs represented by the cenotaphs.

Thanks for touring and reviewing! And boy are you right about the sidewalks - watch out! I love every house in the Garden District, not only for their beauty, but for the stories they hold. But you're also right about the cemetery being the highlight - it is such a beautiful part of our history, and tells the story of who we were and how we came to be who we are today. See you next time in our sturdy shoes!
