The New River Gorge is the second oldest river in the world. Coursing through a 1000' deep canyon that is lined with soaring sandstone cliffs it is no surprise that this area was recently designated as a National Park. Wildlife sightings are abundant and guests will finish their river trip beneath the famous single arch expansion bridge known as the New River Gorge Bridge.

Greg Santana brought the thunder for me and my Troop- we asked him for a strong Send and man did he deliver. That guy cuts with a scalpel on the river, top notch navigation and he knew the lines that gave us more whitewater than ANYONE on the water today. Other boats floated by with glares of jealousy, I'm not kidding.There are 6 people here full of gratitude for his personality and guidance..

Everything was organized, fun and safe! Took family members, ages 8-70, on a full day Upper New trip on Fourth of July weekend and had a great experience. It did not feel too crowded at any point. Our guide was Bailey, who was very experienced and positive. She really made it a fun day and helped us all enjoy the river. We were all very impressed with how she balanced safety and fun! The trip leader was Noelle who was hilarious on the bus. Arrived at 8:30am, bus departed at 9:10am, back on Ace property around 3pm. Lunch was good too. If you're staying at Ace and are between the ages of 8-45 and in reasonable physical condition, do the waterpark. Lots of fun!

We had a great experience with Ace and booked a group excursion for the lower New River. Jordy and Susan were incredible guides and a ton of fun. It was obvious that they were highly skilled, loved the river and wanted to convince us to love it too. Over half of our group was rafting for the first time and now everyone cannot wait to go again. The outfitter had clothing you could rent. Leave your jewelry in your car because the cold water will tend to make rings fall off. Wear quick drying clothes, water shoes, and bring a great attitude. The guides were excellent teachers who assess each set of rapids with care based on current conditions. After you raft you can buy photos, their shop has great items and the shower and dressing rooms were large. We cannot wait to return. Ace has the experience perfectly planned for you and your group. Highly recommend!
