The bus tour itself was informative and all the guides we had were charismatic and knowledgeable. Being New York, it is very busy so obviously the journeys can take quite a long time. If you’re on a flying visit - taking the subway will be much quicker. Our hotel was right by one of the stops which made it really handy - i think this is important to bear in mind when choosing whether to do it or not. The Brooklyn loop doesn’t seem to happen frequently enough in my eyes and the hours of operation are too short. In terms of the 5 included attractions - we didn’t end up using them all because of time and booking restrictions. (Eg. The Brooklyn and dumbo tour doesn’t operate on a Sunday - we tried booking for the Monday and it had already sold out) We also had an issue with the Rockefeller centre (top of the rock) as we didn’t know we needed to book in advance - ie. redeem our voucher for a ticket at a busy time. The queue was horrendous and again it messed our plans up as we couldn’t do it when we wanted. The tour of Chelsea, highline and Meatpacking district was fabulous and something we would never have considered doing without the pass. Would have rated it higher if there had been more information given upon redeeming our voucher at the office for the pass. It wasn’t busy so they could have taken 2 minutes to give some advice and explain a bit better about how it all worked. Also, the bus stops could do with showing what time the next bus is due to show up! A lot of unnecessary waiting around...

You have to swap your voucher for a ticket the queue to do this is very long. I don’t think they have as many buses as other companies and what they do have are old and battered. A lot of the headphone sockets don’t work. Often they have no guides just a taped commentary which doesn’t always run in sync. On one trip when I mentioned that the headphone sockets didn’t work it was received with a shrug of the shoulders and we were told we could always get off. He, one if a few guides and a Danny DeVito look-a-like, made comments which I could not hear, but the rest of the bus could he then proceeded to wonder why I made no return comment. It left me very embarrassed and uncomfortable for the rest of the trip Downtown. I wouldn’t use these again if they gave me a free ride. Very disappointed as it was my first time in New York

This is a great way to see the city and save money on transportation in theory. However, the Greyline company sells more tickets than they can accommodate in bussing. We did the 72 hour on and off bus tour. It was great when we could get a bus, but the buses would often not stop at all the stops and we waiting a long time. They could fix this problem by having more buses and less people selling tickets. They have 4/5 people on every corner trying to sell tickets. It’s a little overboard. Many of the tour guides were great. However we had one woman that was absolutely rude. She was taking her tip bag around to people saying this are appreciated. We found that tacky. Overall would do a bus tour again but I wouldn’t not go with this company.
