Côte de Na Pali

Na Pali Coast State Wilderness Park
1. Breathtaking Sightseeing—With her 4,000’ cliffs, cascading waterfalls, emerald-green valleys and secluded beaches, the Napali Coast is an absolute must-do on any Kauai vacation. And while most tours stop there, this adventure continues on to Lehua Crater (a Hawaii State Wildlife Sanctuary) and the mysterious Ni’ihau Island.

Niihau - The Forbidden Island
2. Excellent Snorkeling and Wildlife Viewing— The snorkeling conditions around Lehua Crater and Niihau are some of the clearest and most prolific in all of Hawaii. Going offshore to Lehua and Niihau, we increase our chances of seeing more elusive ocean species such as pilot whales and rough-toothed dolphins in addition to the spinner dolphins, green sea turtles and humpback whales (seasonally, December-April) that frequent the waters of Kauai.

It was windy and rainy so the tour was altered. But captain Jess let us know about the changes before we left and we ended up getting in all of the things we wanted to see. We saw multiple whales, tons of dolphins put on a show for us, a rainbow, snorkeling didn’t see anything big but lots of colorful fish. (Also, I was a newbie so wasn’t the most adventurous). The Napali coast, despite rain and clouds was still a sight to behold with clouds peaking out of the crevices giving an almost mystical feel.

What an amazing day! Whales and dolphins galore. The captain shifted around the schedule of events to maximize our snorkeling time and it did not disappoint. The reef snorkeling was perfect; fish, stingrays, dolphins, and a glorious day. The crew and food were also top notch. Highly recommend.
