First of all, it would be beneficial if there was a specific itinerary. You literally were told where you were going and how long you were allowed at one event at a time, not in advance. We were not ever informed of what was next. It was a “schedule oriented “ person’s nightmare!
To begin with, we were told that our bus would pick us up at 9:45(give or take 10 minutes), yet arrived at 10:05. This became very apparent why as the day unfolded.). Once the bus arrived we still sat on the bus an additional 20 minutes waiting on a late arriving family. So, our 10 am tour started at 10:30. Once we got to the boat ride we were given specific instructions on when and where to return. Again, the same family was over 30 minutes late back to the bus. So, by this point we’ve lost around 1 hour of our tour time. The frustrating part was that Ed, the driver, would attempt to call and wait on these inconsiderate people!!! By the time we got to The Cave of the Mist where food was available, we only had 12 minutes to eat if we went to any of the views. So, 90% of the people on the bus were starving because there was no time to even buy a snack!!! Needless to say, the rule followers did as told, but had to wait again on another family. (That boarded with food!) Sadly, every stop led to us waiting 15-30 minutes for tourists to board the bus!
All in all, the views were amazing, the weather was great, but the day was extremely LONG due to waiting on inconsiderate people!!! I would highly recommend instilling a text alert system to inform people you are leaving! Or, just leave at the appointed time to make the tour more enjoyable to all! Ed was TOO patient which annoyed the majority of the tourists 😔
