Although a long road trip from New York City to Niagara and back, it was definitely worth it. Our coach was incredibly comfortable and both our drivers got us up there and back in a safe and timely manner. Our tour guide was very informative and with 4 hours free time after the initial walking tour, plenty of time to revisit our favorite sections. The Falls themselves have to be seen to be believed and the raw power of them is something to experience. Even though we travelled knowing the Maid of the Mist and the bottom of the falls were closed for the season, the trip was more than worth it as being next to the Falls themselves more than make up for this. Thanks Amigo Tours and Niagara Scenic tours for a great journey which was comfortable, informative and our most favorite thing to have done since arriving here Mid December.

Visiting NYC allowed my husband and I the opportunity to take a day trip to Niagara Falls, a bucket-list activity! And it was well worth the long hours! Our day began very early in the morning. We were told to be at the meeting point at 3:45 a.m. to depart at 4:00. Our guide, Patricia, was there at the designated time. The bus, however, was not. We waited 20 minutes for the driver/bus to arrive and, after "roll" and general info, didn't actually get on the road until 4:35. The bus itself was clean and comfortable. Most people slept on the way there. It is a very long trip, 7+ hours with a terrible stop for breakfast on the way up---not really the tour operator's fault that the food venue was slow and didn't have most of the items they had illustrated on their board. Suggestion--take a tote with a variety of snacks and water---we were really glad we did. Bags, extra coats, umbrellas, etc. can be left on the bus at the falls, but with no access during the day. The falls are incredible---so worth the trip! The "Maid Of The Mist" is a really important, lovely part of the tour but be prepared for unbelievably long lines and to be "herded" onto the boat, shoulder-to-shoulder, in very rough water. (Maybe I'm a cynic, but at times I felt that it was an accident waiting to happen.) Patricia was a very good guide and kept everyone informed about meet/leave times and meeting points. She gave the group the option to go explore on our own or stay with her the entire time. I liked that. What I didn't like was the fact that we had to wait on the bus AGAIN when we were supposed to leave. Then, we waited on a person in the tour group for ANOTHER half hour. Ridiculous on both accounts. Regardless of the lengthy trip and even the tardy bus drivers, Niagara Falls is a must-see tour when that close!
