Im aware this kind of tour lives or dies on the group's participation level. But the guide is the foundation. We took the 5/17 Drunken History Tour. Our guide was fast-talking, mumbly and non-inclusive. There were two women in our group that heard him, the rest of us didnt exist. Also, some bits of information I DID hear on the tour were ridiculous and/or had nothing whatsoever to do with NOLA history. Some pearls of wisdom: 1. Only eat white pepper as you cannot digest black pepper. It gets stuck inside you and causes cancer. 2. Men pee standing up. Now women can too, then he gave the website to "check it out". 3. Our tour guide's grandma used to dig up herbs and 'heal' her grandkids. 4. He knows who "really" killed JFK but he cant tell us. 5. Apparently 10,000+ people died in NOLA during Hurricane Katrina but the government doesn't want us to know. It was a drinking pub crawl tour. We started with a tiny complimentary hurricane. 1:45 in, we had stopped at 2 bars and a package store. He waited outside most of the time. I learned almost nothing. We were bored and left the tour early. Even paying Groupon rates this was a waste of money.

We had a wonderful time on this tour. Byron was an excellent guide and we had so much fun. We went to local drinking spots, and even one along Pirates Alley, where we got to watch Absinthe being made and also order a glass of it. We also learned a lot about New Orleans history. We would definitely recommend this tour.
