Surf N Sea is a great place to do a beginner surf lesson. I booked a group lesson on Monday morning and there was only one other person in my group. Henry, the instructor, was a good balance of professional and laid back and got me standing and catching waves quickly. He also answered questions patiently and made sure we learned proper etiquette. The equipment is really nice and helps build confidence, so that after the lesson you're itching to go out, rent a board, and surf on your own. Lovely people, lovely place!

I caught a wave and stood up! What more do you want? Spent two hours out in the waves and got 7-8 pushes on big a tanker board. Saw a turtle. How cool is that? This is a one stop shop for surfing. They got all the gear, apparel, info, car mounting systems, new and used boards, cameras, helmets, books, lotions and potions, and right out back you can rent equipment and walk it right out into the water. They also *won't* rent to you if you don't know what you're doing or the conditions are bad which is a good thing -- they keep you outta trouble. What more could you want? Four different staff members helped me find things and answered my questions and they were all very friendly.

Surfing lesson here made our Hawaii trip! We stayed on Waikiki Beach but was a little crowded for us New Yorkers. Rented a Mustang convertible and took a ride up there. Was well worth it! Jane also made sure all of us were able to get up on the surf board before finishing the session!
