We really enjoyed hearing about so much of the history of GCS and of course trying out the area with the acoustic tiles and talking to each other from opposite corners!

As a former commuter into the city I have always wanted to learn more about this beautiful building. Chose this tour while in the city for a theater performance. I really would have liked to see more of the areas "down below" as there used to be tunnels to walk through from the station up to 5th Avenue which came out at a door next to Saks 5th Avenue across from Rockefeller Center. No one seems to know about this so maybe these tunnels have become nonexistent now. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and informative, we heard about a lot of history and saw pics of what things used to look like years ago. However it required a lot of standing for long periods of time, lots of walking and stairs which could have been a problem for older folks. This should be mentioned in the description of the tour. I would still like to go on a tour which includes more of the "secrets of Grand Central" and an opportunity to go into some of the basement areas.

Hi Georgie, thanks for your review. Unfortunately since the MTA controls 100% of Grand Central Terminal and its operations there is no longer any access to the basements or the window walkways anymore. It is now officially illegal to access these spaces. We are glad you enjoyed the tour in spite of the access and your tunnel connection to 5th Avenue seems almost too good to be true. I know quite a bit about the underground infrastructure under Grand Central and never heard of it. I will definitely do some research and let you know what I come up with. Perhaps you are referring to the Grand Central Northwest and Northeast passages? They stretch as far 48th and Madison. Be well and thanks!
