A very informative and interesting tour. Easy to follow and the guide was very knowledgeable. Tour focused on the history of the subway system.

A scam, basically - charging 'guide' service for a $2.75 subway ride, plus walking-tour patter on NYC subway history that while sometimes entertaining and largely accurate, is less complete and accurate than the Wikipedia entry on same, to cite one free transit-history source. The promised "Visit City Hall Park to see the remnants of the very first subway station" is at best misleading, at worse openly fraudulent, as you don't actually get to visit or even see the famous long-shuttered City Hall stop, as this tour is not arranged in conjunction with the Transit Museum, which has the exclusive rights to bring visitors into the closed station a few times a year. It is true that you "ride the 6 train through three abandoned “ghost” stations" (including, for milliseconds, the City Hall station) but that is easily accomplished on your own. Just hop on the 6 heading downtown from Brooklyn Bridge to its dead-ending turnaround spot, and look out the window as you speed past. (The tour's official gathering spot at a downtown Starbucks that has long been closed by a construction project didn't inspire confidence, nor did the guide's initial quick identification of aboveground downtown historical sites, such as the Pace University building across from City Hall cited as 'the original New York Times building' (it's not; that was on Nassau St.).

Please note: THIS IS NOT OUR TOUR! Our Underground Subway tour does not meet at Starbucks nor do we advertise going through three abandoned ghost stations. Nor do we walk by or cover the Pace University building which was the home of the NYT from 1889 to 1904, but certainly not the first. I apologize that you did not enjoy your experience but again please note this was not our tour you are reviewing. My thanks and be well!

Tour was just fabulous!!! Justin knew everything about the art, the history, the people who created the art, and the people the art portrayed. It was of the best tours ever, and we take lots of tours. For New Yorkers, it's particularly rewarding to find slightly-hidden art which enriches one's travel on the subway. A great tour.

Thank you so much for this amazing review! It was my pleasure to lead you around to discover some of the great, often-unseen art in the subway. I'm really glad you enjoyed it. Be well!
