Oak Bluffs, visite audio de Martha's Vineyard

Aperçu
Knockabout Travel takes you to Martha's Vineyard, with this self-paced audio tour of the most popular town on the island. Discover the origin story of how Oak Bluffs developed from its humble beginnings as a religious camp into a summer destination for business moguls, celebrities, and US Presidents.

On the tour, we discuss the development of the Martha's Vineyard Camp Meeting Association, home to the "campground" and the famed gingerbread cottages. Learn how the area around Ocean Park and Circuit Avenue was developed with tourism in mind, and how that conflicted with the original Methodist campers. Along the route, you will be introduced to some of the finer points and lesser-known history of the town, as well as places to grab lunch or a drink.

The tour is GPS guided with turn-by-turn directions and audio tracks that play automatically at the right time and place so you're free to simply enjoy the tour.

Very useful and informative. It was sensitive enough to our location to notice even the slightest deviations. The information was rich in detail and always had something to offer about each location’s cultural history.

What can I say? The app didn't work. When I tried to launch the app, it just shows a spinner and never stopped. I stood at the starting location of the audio tour for more than 30 minutes trying to get it to launch. To the point that my wife got quite mad with me.

My apologies that this tour did not function properly. A technical issue was identified with the application that resulted in the tour not working correctly for a few days. The tour was taken offline until it was verified to be working correctly again. All customers affected were refunded. Customer was refunded on May 10, 2023. Technology issues are few, but when they do arise, whether from difficulties with the tour app, GPS interference, or even the location services settings on one's phone, I will commit to solving the issue or issuing a refund. Ocean Park is a major landmark in Oak Bluffs, and all visitors will find themselves here at some point, so it makes sense to include it in the tour. I cannot do much about the Canadian geese that made a mess of the park. They do migrate through the area in the springtime.

DO NOT do this tour! Bought it for my husband & myself. Neither one of our tours worked on our phones. It had no clue of where you were & did not instruct you on where to go. We did get it to work for maybe 3 minutes on my phone only but from that point on it just kept repeating the same info even though we continued on the way to the next area to see. Very frustrating & a big waste of money!!! I'm hoping to get my money back from Viator since I have used them LOTS in the past with almost no problems!!!

The tour was taken offline until it was verified to be working correctly again. All customers affected were refunded. Customer was refunded on May 10, 2023, and the following message was received: "Thank you very much for responding so quickly! That is a very professional way to approach the situation! I am sure your business will do very well since you take such good care of your clients! Well done!!! It's much appreciated!!!"
