Edgar was our guide and he was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Provided lots of information on the sites as we drove to and from Mount Vernon, in addition to the information provided at Mount Vernon & Old Alexandria. It was nice that Edgar gave us a guided tour of the first half of Mount Vernon to provide us with some information we might not otherwise have gained touring ourselves, and led us to our Mansion Tour where he left us for 2 hours of touring the grounds and the museum on our own. Just enough time to have a chance to visit George Washington's final resting place, and a bit more of the grounds before heading back to the museum to wander through and have a bit of lunch and time to shop at the gift shop before heading back into Old Town Alexandria for the rest of the tour. Edgar took us to Christ Church (where G. Washington attended church), and there was a docent there who gave us the tour of the church and the history. Opportunity to sit in G. Washington's pew. He took a group picture of us in front of the church and shared with all of us so we had a memento of the day. We had a couple of people who had health issues, but Edgar adjusted the pace of the tour to accommodate them, and that did not take away from the enjoyment or the time the rest of us had. All in all a great tour. Worth the money, rather than getting your own way out there and touring everything on your own.

A definite must-see. Mt. Vernon is wonderful, impressive, touching. The guide, Edgar, gave excellent narration and stayed with us all the way to the mansion tour so that we were not left to wander about but saw many sites--along with his narration--until our scheduled mansion time. After that he took us to Alexandria--and great bonus. This tour is worth it.

Edgar had real passion for his job as a tour guide. He was very informative, funny, and it was obvious he loves sharing the history of George Washington. It was a pleasure to be on his tour.
