My friend and I took the Ghost Tours of Newport, RI and were not disappointed. John was our guide and quite the actor. He embellished stories of piracy and ghosts throughout a walking tour of the city. It was very interesting and fun to be a part of the night activity and we even got revenge on the "hecklers" that we encountered along the way. It was well worth the money and an invaluable lesson on the history of Newport.

Unless you have an afinity for ghosts & the super natural, FORGET IT. The guide was very knowledgeable along the way you are shown photos in dimly lit areas, Tour was in the evening assembled at the Marriott then walked around some of the streets & alleyways ending at a church. Guide held a thermal reading device at statues to show ghost presence (Cooler temp.) supposedly. Was careful not to aim it at any gas lit lanterns (would show temp. change if machine worked correctly. SAVE YOUR MONEY buy a guide book & self tour.

My husband and I had a wonderful time hearing stories of hauntings and history as we walked along the streets of Newport. We have participated in other ghost tours but felt this was one of the best!
