I grew up with the Free Willy movies and having a season pass to Sea World San Diego. Seeing an orca in the wild was at the top of my bucket list. I got to check that one off after this trip. It made me so happy!!

Incredibly safe and fun cruise! Really enjoyed viewing Orcas in their natural habitats, it was a great way to spend an afternoon in Seward. I cannot wait to come back & do it again. I felt like the crew did a great job following COVID protocols and made me feel like I was safe while on board. The crew was also incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, you can tell they really do love their jobs. I cannot recommend this company enough, such an amazing Alaskan experience!

We decided to book with this company instead of Kenai Fjords, after reading about smaller tours (maybe this was a misreading on my part). We arrived to a huge boat with several other families and guests. I came to Alaska in hopes to capture Orca Photos. My other friend had taken the Kenai boat the day before with several Orca spotting a so I was hopeful. We read that this wasn’t a set route and that they keep connected with other captains to know where the Orcas are. So we were pretty excited about this Orca adventure. It was also only 4 hours, so our captain and crew (who were all friendly and wonderful) within the first 6 minutes took a 5 minute detour in the bay chasing a sea otter-_-. Which are adorable...but we paid for an Orca cruise and not one of their wildlife cruises (which they also offer). I suppose it being mostly families with toddlers is what made the crew constantly stop for other marine life. So we booked it toward one spot that Orcas we’re spots a few days ago. I assumed we would maybe hit a couple stops but nope, the captain booked it to this one spot...we waited 10 minutes and then pretty much headed back to the dock. We saw a Gray Whale...which the crew took 20-25 minutes following and chasing. I wish this would have been done for Orcas. I assumed they would have called captains that morning to see where they were. This felt like a set route, and we were super disappointed we didn’t get to see a single Orca. I don’t know all the behind the scenes, but I think it’s important to communicate that to guests when you’re selling a very specific tour. I understand that wildlife is just that..wild. But next time it sounds like Kenai Fjords saw a ton more Orcas on their wildlife cruise, instead of us on our Orca cruise. If you’re looking for a short cruise that’s great for toddlers and families this is it. If you’re booking solely on seeing Orcas, then maybe come with lower expectations.
