This tour departs from Orcas Island. The island can only be reached by the Washington State Ferry System. If your party is not already on island we recommend our Anacortes departure location.
Check in begins 30 minutes prior to departure.

Such a great tour! Our guide Liberty had extensive knowledge on the whales and the area we were in. We also got to see a pod of 8-10 orcas! Well worth the money spent.

My friends and I had an unforgettable whale watching experience with Outer Island Expeditions on Saturday, March 12th. Everything was super smooth and the crew was absolutely amazing. Liberty, Kavicka & Chaz were so knowledgeable, friendly, and truly gave us an experience we will always remember. We saw a pod of transient orcas hunting nearby the coast and we were able to admire them for about 45 minutes. We learned so much about these beautiful creatures and have already started planning for our next trip :)

This week I went on an fantastic adventure to watch Orca whales on Orcas Island. It was wonderful to see these magnificent creatures hunting and traveling from such a close, yet responsible distance. One of the elements that made this trip so special was the amazing crew, especially Liberty our Naturalist. She was incredibly passionate, knowledgeable, and engaging while helping us learn about the biology, behavior, and social dynamics of the whales. The way she presented the information was so interesting that it made our group even more curious and we were constantly asking her more in-depth questions. Liberty always responded with more interesting, in-depth, and relevant information, making the trip into an emersive and highly personal experience. We also learned about the geology and history of the area, as we boated through the Salish sea islands on our way to watch the whales in this environment. HIGHLY recommended trip (and if you can book a trip when Liberty is on-board as the Naturalist you will be in for an extra special experience!)
