This tour departs from Orcas Island. The island can only be reached by the Washington State Ferry System. If your party is not already on island we recommend our Anacortes departure location.
Check in begins 30 minutes prior to departure.

Our tour on another boat had been cancelled (due to predicted bad weather) but that morning the weather looked pretty good so I called Outer Island and they were going out. They had room for us so off we went. Dylan captained the boat and headed right up to the Gulf Islands where he quickly spotted a transient orca pod with whom we hung out for a while. He also got word of a humpback in the area and he went out of his way to visit the humpback as well. Elena was an excellent naturalist on board with lots of knowledge. The weather held out and it was a great day overall. Not all of the captains in this organization are as good as Dylan, just saying. He understands the whale's movement patterns and stays nearby while keeping a safe distance. He's also friendly to the passengers while keeping his eye on the whales. Outer Island also has GREAT boats. They're new, just the right size, comfortable with indoor and outdoor seating and they're FAST. My only suggestion to them is to address the registration/parking lot/waiting area. You end up walking back and forth a lot. Can the picnic tables be moved down towards the dock entrance?

We totally lucked out and had the most amazing time on our whale watching trip last weekend! Our captain, Dylan, and his wife (who kept us well entertained and educated with her knowledge and very personable charm), went above and beyond to not only find and take us to the best viewing spot for the orcas, but also detoured to other wildlife sightings. We stumbled on a Groupon deal, which is why we chose this company, but I would go back to them even without....especially if we had the same guides! I love the fact that the company is tied in with and supports education and conservation efforts of WILD too. There's a genuine love of the wildlife, which I appreciated.

Came to Orcas Island to do a kayaking whale watching excursion but due to weather changed to their boat excursion and were very pleased! Dylan and Alainah took great care of us while we were on the water. They were very knowledgeable, answered the questions of everyone on our full boat and let us know what to look for as we went along our tour. We were able to see multiple whales, sea lions and harbor seals and got to follow a pod of orca! The experience was awesome and I would strongly recommend taking a trip with them!
