There is no restroom at the meeting location. There is a public restroom at Valentine Park (1511 W French Ave, Orange City, FL 32763) about a mile before you arrive the meeting location that we recommend you use before your tour.

It was a wunderfull kajak trip through a buitiful part of nature. The guide gave many information and we were able to see 3 times Manatees. Many thanks!

We went on this to see manatees which was a lifelong dream of mine. The tour was called the manatee encounter. We saw no manatees. Had the tour been simply a nature tour we would have been happy. But as it was supposed to see manatees we felt like we were bait and switched. Plus this tour is pricier than others we phoned....regrettably my family was right that I paid a premium for the name. I do understand the tour operator can not control the animals, but then do not call it manatee encounter and say most of the tours see manatees. Call it a nature tour. There were some in the river that day we just missed them. Outside of not getting to see what I came for, the tour was good. Our tour guide was very good and we saw alligators and birds.

We have been running our "Manatee Encounter" tour since 1995 In all those years we have never once guaranteed the presence of manatees nor have we ever mislead anyone. If anyone contacts our office and asks we always tell them how many manatee where on the previous days tour. We also post it on our social media. The Orlando visitor can also look on the Blue Springs State Parks website for a daily manatee count. In the past we have seen unethical tour companies use power boats to scare manatee and force them to travel towards tour groups. That is why we do not guarantee a manatee interaction on every tour, simple ethics. As far as the amount you paid for your tour, yes, you are correct, we are more expensive than the other kayak companies. That is because we use high quality kayaks and gear, we pay our guides a living wage, we are insured, and we limit how many people we take on a tour so we don't destroy the habitats we travel to. Higher Quality, Guests Safety, Ethical Standards, and a commitment to the preservation of the natural environment come at a higher price. That is what you paid for and that is what we will always be know for.

Even though we didn’t get to spot any manatees, we saw plenty of other wildlife and Jeff made it interesting and fun. Would definitely try again during a time of year that there are more manatees!
