Ok, so at the start of the show, I was ready to leave a not
so great review. Start times in our email were half hour later than actual (email said dinner at 6:30 and show at 7:30, but dinner was actually at 6:00 with a 7:00 show. Also, I put in my reservation it was my daughter’s birthday, and then I told them again when we got there, but they didn’t include her in the birthdays. The food was ok, but not great, and the venue and ambience are very lacking compared to other dinner shows in the area similarly priced.
However, once the show started, we really enjoyed it. There was a lot of humor and the performers are incredibly talented. The fire knife display was phenomenal, and you can tell these men and women are very well trained in their craft. In talking to one of the male performers (all were very personable), we learned that this used to be more of a traveling group and they are trying to stay in one place for a better life, which I can totally support.
Keep at it, Polynesian Fire. A better venue will really push you over the top. Until then, it’s a good show worth seeing to really appreciate the training these guys have gone through and the dangers they face.
