Randonnée privée dans le bosquet de séquoias géants

Aperçu
The Tuolumne and Merced Groves are secluded, peaceful hiking trails accentuated by the towering Sequoia trees reaching out of view. The Giant Sequoias grow up to nearly 300 feet high and 26 feet in diameter, making the largest living things on Earth, and can live to be over 3,000 years old!

Our guide, Dyson, was excellent. We visited Yosemite from May 21st to the 28th. I strongly recommend this guide service and especially Dyson.

My husband and I recently enjoyed a nice winter hike in the Tuolomne Grove area to see some Giant Sequoias. Matt, our guide, was great. I give him 5 stars. He shared some history of Yosemite and the flora and fauna with us, and made it a fun time. He was friendly and professional, and seemed genuinely concerned after I slipped on some ice on the trail and fell on my knee. After I fell, he helped us put on some grips for our shoes that he had brought along. Really appreciated his thoughtfulness in bringing the grips! The sequoia grove itself was very nice, though much smaller in size/length than I was expecting, and with fewer sequoias than I was expecting. The four stars rating I gave is for the grove itself. The sequoias that are there are beautiful. I was hoping to touch one that is still alive, but they are blocked off (for good reason, of course). I think the grove is definitely worth the trip but don't expect an entire forest of sequoias for miles and miles like I did! We were expecting an "all day" affair with the sequoias in the grove, as the company website lists this activity as 6 to 8 hours. After the 90 minutes or so it took us to do the first sequoia grove, Matt suggested we drive a short distance to a second grove, called Merced Grove, and we saw more lovely sequoias. I think we spent another 90 minutes or so there as well. There are several downed sequoias, and even one you can walk (drive through back in the day) through that is fun. Matt offered to take photos of us along the way, which was nice. At about 12:45 or so we were done with the second grove and Matt offered to do more with us if we were up for it, but we decided to head back to our hotel which was about an hour and 45 minute drive away due to the icy conditions on the roads.
