Mount Rushmore National Memorial

Make the very most of your time and visit the famous faces at Mount Rushmore with an expert! Take your time enjoying all that the National Monument has to offer; museums, trails, gift stores - even Thomas Jefferson's family ice-cream recipe! Our guide will talk you through the building of the project, its place in history and a local's perspective. We normally spend between 1hour 1.5 hours here.

Iron Mountain Road

Iron Mountain Road is a Black Hills experience not worth missing! This famous scenic route was built especially to compliment Mt Rushmore. Enjoy the perfectly framed tunnels facing the faces, and the pigtail bridges. We make our way to the top of Peter Norbeck Overlook for a spectacular view of the Black Hills.

Sylvan Lake

Spectacular Sylvan Lake is our first stop in Custer State Park. A must see in the hills, this is the beginning of our journey onto Needles Hwy.

Needles Highway

The jewel of the Black Hills, Needles Hwy is like nothing you have very seen before. This scenic drive is cradled by the heart of the mountain range; magnificent spires and sparkling rock formations (really, the mica makes it sparkle!), this is a drive you must see.

Julie our tour guide was awesome. She picked us up on time from our cottage and gave us a great tour of Mount Rushmore, Needless Highway, Hill City and in between. My mom isn’t super mobile so this tour was perfect for her. Julie was so sweet helping her in and out of the van and ensuring her seat belt was buckled. We really enjoyed this private tour and it made the experience so much easier than doing it in our own

The tour was a great choice for my son and I. Our guide, Cindy, was pleasant, engaging and was able to give us a lot of information about Mt. Rushmore and the Crazy Horse areas. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and highly recommended it.

Cindy, our tour guide, was delightful, personable, patient, and an excellent driver. We enjoyed our time with her, learning about the area from her, and hearing her passion for the sites. We saw so many beautiful areas and sites on our tour and it was particularly nice to have a knowledgeable and experienced person driving in the area due to the winding roads and tunnels, particularly since we had driven over 1800 miles on our own through Idaho and Wyoming. We learned a lot from her and the private tour definitely has perks that a larger tour doesn’t have. Thanks Cindy!
