As an avid thrifter, I took Sammy’s NYC group thrift tour when I visited New York in 2019. It was such a brilliant experience that when I returned in 2020, I was keen to spend the day thrift shopping with her. Sammy really is one-of-a-kind and it was a delight to spend the day with her. Among her superhuman thrifting skills, her extensive knowledge about vintage and designer pieces were particularly useful. This a paired with her incredibly personable manner - means that I had the most fantastic day and returned home with some beautiful pieces for a fraction of the price. Tips for taking this tour: - Make sure to wear clothes which you can try on items over, in case there are no changing rooms - Try on whatever Sammy picks out. Give it a chance. Sometimes she selected items which I wouldn’t have picked out for myself and these turned out to be my favourite items. She has a real eye for what things will look like off the hanger. - If you’re on holiday, bring an empty suitcase. Was a real shame having to put some of the larger pieces back as I wouldn’t be able to get them home.

“I’ve toured with Sammy both in her larger groups and with her one-on-one. She is highly energetic, intuitive and committed to her craft. It is unbelievable the pieces she finds for me. They are things I would not have necessarily chosen for myself, and I end up loving them! Her personal shopping tour is designed for you and your tastes and budget. You will not be disappointed (but make sure you leave room in your luggage to bring your new things home, or your will be!)”

This tour is the best! Like I’m no thrift novice, but NYC is a big place. Having a tour guide and a pro, declutter my shopping options was priceless. I was able to really focus on solid places. Sammy’s expertise along the way is super helpful, too. She is fun, knowledgeable and easy to talk to about the fashion industry. You can tell she is doing her best to slow the fast fashion industry AND keep the goodies circulating. So bring a rolling bag and put on those sneakers, you are gonna need them. Get to shopping with Sammy stat. That’s me in the super good score Sammy found me (rad coat) and our thrift dog (my service dog).
