Escape from the crowded tourist areas for a private, 90-minute surf lesson for two near Lahaina, Maui. Choose from an early-, mid-, or late-morning time frame. This surf session will focus on water safety, proper surf technique, surfing style, and etiquette. The experienced, professional instructor guarantees students will stand up, catch a wave, and leave the beach as a certified surfer. All lessons are private so they will never combine guests from separate parties. All the necessary equipment — rash guard, state-of-the-art soft-top board, and reef shoes — included.

Tide's communication through the booking process was excellent. Day of the lesson Jason called me to let me know where he'd be, then called me right before lesson to talk me into parking right by him. Jason was kind and funny and made the girls feel relaxed about the new experience. They got up multiple times throughout the lesson which was exciting for us. If your looking for cool people and a fun experience, book with Rivers to the Sea!

This was my sons first time to Maui and when I asked what he wanted to do, he said, “learn to surf”. It had been some 30 years since I had been on a board. Kody was awesome, very thourough yet not iverwhelming on instructions. Once in the water he helped my son and I learn to surf, the kid is a natural. We had a blast and will be doing it again soon. Thanks again Kody, and thank you Maui for the memories. #loveMaui

We booked a private surf lesson with Rivers of the Sea in May. Jason was our instructor and we could not have had a better experience. About 15 minutes prior to the lesson, he called to make sure we didn't have any issues finding the location. We we got there he explained everything really well and had us practice on the beach to make sure we were comfortable. When we were ready to go out, he provided tips and coaching the entire time, helped us catch waves, and made sure we had a great time! We already want to go back to Maui and plan to book another session when we do.
