I had never surfed before and always wanted to try. They had me standing up and riding waves in an hour. I highly recommend Pure Vida Surf School.

I can’t recommend Pura Vida and Franky enough. He was welcoming, professional, and extremely patient with our kids. For my 9 year old son’s first ever surfing lesson, Franky took the time to explain the basics, stretch with him, and had him riding a wave within a half hour. He then spent the rest of the lesson continuing to work with our son who was super bummed when the lesson was over. All he wanted to do for the rest of the trip was surf with Franky. He took a second lesson the next day which was again great. Even outside our lessons Franky would take time to say hi to our kids and give them pointers. I also appreciated that he took time to talk with us as parents to provide feedback and pointers for our kids, even my daughter who didn’t take a formal lesson with him. We also rented boards from Pura Vida which was reasonably priced and incredibly easy. If you’re looking for lessons or board rentals in downtown Cocoa Beach, Pura Vida is a reasonably priced and very personal alternative to the more corporate shops.
