We flew over to Maui from Kona to see what Maui had to offer. This dinner cruise was the best event of our two week trip. The evening was full of great sunset and full moon photo ops. We met some great folks from around the U.S. and even from Denmark. The meal was excellent, the music was great and the staff were superb. If you do nothing else while in Maui, take this cruise!
Excellent event. We will repeat next time. We left and returned on time. Prime Rib was excellent. Well choreographed service of food and beverages. Very pleasant staff. The Maui Princess is well set up for a top deck dining experience. Understandably, the chairs and tables are bolted to the deck to prevent any sliding or tipping. They are white plastic deck chairs, for pete's sake... this is not Pineapple Hill... they work well for this venue and are very comfortable. Food was warm, where appropriate, and very tasty. I don't think my wife could even eat all of here prime rib, but I did. Gorgeous Sunset, nice music by local musician who did fine for the cruise ambiance. Our cruise was maybe 60% full, so serving staff were plentiful and always available. This was a dinner cruise which we enjoyed very much. You will too!
I was very dissapointed that the ship did not leave until the sun was almost down and instead of going towards the sunset the ship took a right turn away from it. I would have thought they would have more entertainment for the price we paid. The food was very good but I can go to a 5 star restaurant and pay less. I will not reccomend this to anyone.
