The Lost Paddle Rafting company isn’t as fancy as some of the other rafting companies that guide through the gorge but their guides are extremely knowledgeable about rafting and about the unique history of the area. We learned about the history of the pipeline, which was hand carved into the side of the gorge by prisoners who would get a day off their sentence for a week of work. One of the worlds highest bridges stands at the top of the gorge over the river, and we saw a train that is part of the unique traditions in the area. The company is a bit smaller, but that meant less rafters to guide ratio. We swam in the river and jumped of giant boulders, and even surfed some eddies. Maddie guided the first half of our tour and she was super chill to talk to. Nathan guided the second half and he was very experienced and knew everything about the history. Even the sandwiches we had for lunch were bomb. This trip was extremely memorable and I 10/10 would recommend Lost Paddle Rafting Co!
