Our Sonoma Coast Kayak Tour takes you to the edge of the beautiful Pacific Ocean where we explore the Russian River as it meets the sea. Birds, seals, the occasional passing whale, and relaxing on the river are the highlights of this great day on the water. Expect to spend approximately 2.5 hours on this tour which includes paddling the river and walking on the beach while gazing out on the Pacific Ocean.

Please bring water shoes or sandals.
We will get wet. Bring clothes you won't mind getting wet and consider bringing a change of clothes.
The weather at the coast can change quickly. Please bring an extra layer in case it is a bit chilly. It's better to have more clothes than you need rather than wish you had an extra layer.
Due to Covid-19 we are unable to supply food or beverages. If you would like lunch during or after your tour please feel free to bring something to enjoy or your guide can recommend some of our fantastic local cafes or restaurants.

Two other groups canceled and Erik honored our reservation that turned into a private tour. He is a guide with integrity and kindness. In addition, he provided recommendations for the remainder of our stay! Do not pass up an opportunity to learn more about this beautiful area and experience a relaxing two hours. Book it!!

What an amazing day kayaking with such an awesome guide Erik. This was the highlight of our trip to the coast. I cannot say enough great things about the experience. Erik is very knowledgeable and a great guide. And the scenery was amazing. I never write reviews but this one warranted one. I highly recommend!

We discovered Smart Tours on Trip advisor, like everyone does. We started communicating with the owner, Erik, about a month before we were planning to be in the area. We did not want a guided tour, and Erik was super accommodating about “customizing” our experience. He was always responsive to my many questions as we approached our preferred date for the trip. When we arrived in Jenner, Erik went through all the details of what we were going to see (lots of wildlife, including the seal populations on the beaches!). He told us the best routes and what to avoid. The setting is amazing, because it it’s near the area where the Russian River empties into the ocean. In the end, we paddled for almost three hours, and had an experience that we will never forget. Erik is a very personable guy and I’m sure would make a great guide for the group tours he offers. I highly recommend this company!
