I booked online the morning of our arrival to Salem for my husband and I and was glad to book with one of the first folks to offer tours here!
We met Dr. Vitka, our top hatted gentleman, at the Revere Bell on a very chilly afternoon. I immediately liked his persona and great announciated, matter of fact, storytelling voice! He was easy to understand and enthralling with his passion for the topics! I could tell I booked the right tour!
Item to Note, in case unclear, is like most walking tours in Salem, this is ALL outdoors, I did think we might go in Townhall or something but you only visit outside, not an issue just a good to know, luckily we were dressed warmly and moving about with stops in the sun kept us warm enough during our time.
Our guide has been in Salem a long time and so he knows the town, he is VERY well read in the history of Salem and the study of paranormal, to boot! Very fasinating, even if you are a skeptic you cannot pass up these historic stories and events that have happened here.. Dr. Vitka tells the tales with a gruesome flair and detail that makes the time go quickly. He even answered questions and is very studied to provide detailed answer for you. I was impressed with this tour and highly reccomend it!
Tip: I reccommend doing this tour on your first day in Salem, as while we were walking about the town and sites, we saw places we wanted to go back to for both historic, like a cemetary, as well as even a new brewery we passed by, so it was a perfect introduction to Salem for us. Many unique happenings more than just just witch trials, this tour is soo worth the price, so we definately tipped him at the end, not required but appreciated to fund his ghostly studies, he will travel to you if you have a compelling need for paranormal help.
