I every new town I take a hop off bus tour. This gives me an overview of where I am, information on the city and I can select where I want to spend time. The one in San Antonio was extremely disappointing and over priced for what was delivered. We had no tour guide that could speak on the city. A recording was played on at least 2 buses. The river cruise was fabulous and our guide was knowledgeable and interesting without being stupid or vulgar.

This is a fantastic way to learn a great deal in a short space of time about San Antonio, I would highly recommend this trip if time is tight and you only have a day or two in the city.

My wife and I were staying downtown in San Antonio and we decided to use the City Sightseeing Bus to do exactly that....see the sights. Little did we know that our first trip would get us hooked on using the service but also introduced us to Robert B who made the trip extremely informative, fun and entertaining. Over a 2 day period, we were lucky enough to be his passengers on 5 of our 7 trips. Not that the other drivers were NOT fun to ride with, Robert just left a big impression and absolutely made us fans of the service! The service itself is really nice, the buses are prompt and getting on and off is easy throughout the route. They take you right up to many of the popular locations and the others are truly just a short walk away from the stop. We purchased our passes online and it provided a great discount. We rode the bus to the main stop (The Alamo) and picked up our passes. There was no need to pre-print so it was truly very easy. From there, we regarded the bus and took off for a couple of days of fun! We purchased the package that included the River Walk Boat Ride and that turned out to be even more fun than we expected! We suggest that you go in the evening, however it's up to you.....whatever floats your boat, so to speak. Honestly, we recommend this to everyone and will definitely be using the service again!
