While somewhat difficult to locate in San Diego, (it's not too far from SeaWorld San Diego), it's worth the drive. The crew (especially Hailey, Bridget, and Dave) were wonderful. Hailey and Bridget were the naturalists on board, and were very knowledgeable and personable.
Don't always expect to see whales, but you're almost sure to see some different types of dolphins (we saw the common dolphin, the Bottlenose dolphin, and the rare Risso's Dolphin.
On board, you meet people from a variety of places (Most are NOT San Diego residents--our tour had people from Japan, Slovenia, North Carolina, Arizona...)
Note: The waves are not usually too large, but if you're prone to seasickness/motion sickness, take some medicine 30 mins to an hour before departure. Or, if you forgot, they sell some medication in the galley for $4.
