We were able to head out on this whale watching tour on our last day in San Diego. What a treat!
The ticket purchases and staff on land were easy to deal with and pleasant. The company is sure to assure guests that because it is a tour based on sea creatures, you may see many things, or you may see nothing. However, they take care to take the guests to areas that are known to have whale and dolphin activity, as well as taking care to be in communication with other boats that are venturing out to try to find areas that are active that day.
We were very impressed with the crew on board. The ocean is a bumpy place and many people did end up sea sick on the tour. Before the tour departed, the crew made sure to describe the boat and the locations that would be ideal for those experiencing seasickness. As a person that suffers from this, I appreciated those tips and found them to be spot on! I had taken Dramamine before departure and utilized the suggested spots so was ok, however others had a rougher time. The crew was trained to spot those looking green and checked on them frequently. They often moved them to other locations in the boat to try to ease their nausea. The deckhands were consistently cleaning the bathrooms and taking great care of the passengers and the vessel.
We were fortunate to see three whales on our tour and our guide, Erin, was so knowledgeable and excited. She kept us aware of what to look for and gave great descriptions of where to look and what we were seeing. She gave us information about the whale's behavior and what was happening. We all were able to see the wildlife and learn a bit about the species. She was very informative and kept us all excited about what we were seeing.
Overall this was a great whale watching tour. Even if we hadn't seen whales, I would not have been dissapointed with the service and effort to find them this tour provides. You won't be disappointed!
Thanks for a great experience!
