We enjoyed Roman, a very knowledgeable and amusing tour guide. However, there were a couple of incidents that I am highlighting.
It rained during our visit to Muir Woods. Roman stated several times to us on the tour that he would leave the park by 10:20am sharp. However, he prioritized a run in the woods and got back to the tour bus at 10:25am letting all of us sit in the cold rainy weather. Most of us got to the bus 10-15 minutes early, trying to get back on a warm, open bus but unfortunately sat in the unfavorable elements awaiting our tour guide to finish his run, as Roman locked up the bus.
Roman stopped at a produce stand on the way back. He came back on the bus first with a large bag of produce / grocery items. We did not favor this stop as it seemed that he stopped because of his needs. Those that were traveling, i.e. staying in hotels, etc. would not need produce for their hotel stay or trip back home. It was an odd stop for a Muir Woods and wine tour.
Roman repeatedly emphasized tipping . He suggested a couple of times to tip $20, as well as make other analogies of a tipping percentage like you would if you enjoyed a good meal at a restaurant. I feel many gave him generous tips because Roman brought up the topic many times and folks may have felt shamed to tip him.
He did make another off-agenda stop of the Golden Gate Bridge - that was fun.
