Eat your way through the Funk Zone - Santa Barbara's hip, new 'hood - while learning about local culture and how to take great food photos.

This food & photo tour starts on lower State Street and will walk you through the Funk Zone neighborhood where you will taste what Santa Barbara is known for with bites of fresh seafood, gastropub creations, Mexican food, artisan beer, and locally grown wines several different locations. Along the way,  you’ll get immersed in the local culture and hear interesting stories about each place you’ll visit.

You’ll also learn easy-to-shoot photo tips from your pro tour guide and take your food photo skills to the next level using your smartphone’s camera app. By the end of your 3 hour tour, you’ll be eating like a local and shooting like a pro!
(Please note: we cannot accommodate shellfish allergies, vegan or celiac restrictions at this time. However, we only have one shellfish/seafood tasting on the tour.)

The Eat This, Shoot That tour with Abbie was fantastic. We tried so many incredible foods and beverages and Abbie kept everything fun and informative. I've been to Santa Barbara before, but have never learned so much about the culture, the history and the people.

My friends and I did a short weekend in Santa Barbara for our bride-to-be's bachelorette party, and one of our chosen activities was this food tour. And it was an excellent choice! Not only did we get to do a historical walking tour of the Funk Zone (I honestly love learning new things, and this was a huge bonus), but we ate some amazing food. Mony's tacos were my favorite, but the bisque from Enterprise was a close second. Also, Cutler's was an EXCELLENT way to close out our Saturday tour with tastes of excellently distilled whiskey, gin, bourbon, vodka, and my personal favorites the Apple Pie and Cold Brew liqueurs. Our tour guide, Andrew, was the best! He chatted with us in between informing us of local history and detailed how these small businesses got their start to now be well known in the Santa Barbara area. Not to mention, he showed me how to take GOOD pictures. I honestly have been abusing my camera. I had no clue how to properly use it. Not anymore! Thank you for an awesome day, Andrew!

Hi Tara . . . I’m sure you don’t remember me but I was on your tour a few years ago. You taught me how to shoot GREAT photos using my Smart Phone. While we on the tour, we went for ceviche and I took the attached picture. I have never entered a contest so I decided I would give it a try. I had it printed, framed, and submitted it to the Los Angeles County Fair. I titled it “Ceviche by the Sea” I was shocked to find that I took third place behind some very accomplished photographers. That tour was a tremendous learning experience for me. Thanks for a wonderful learning (and eating) experience. If you ever need another recommendation, please count me in. Mike Rounds
