This was a good way to see some of the major historic sites in Savannah. We learned about the Irish and English influence on Savannah (which is surprisingly large), the history of the river and how it’s been raised to accommodate larger ships, and some of the major historical figures who shaped the city. All while eating some local cuisine (authentic sausages roll, she-crab soup, shrimp and grits, a local place that served a donut and pork belly slider, and some local favorite of cheese straws, Savannah honey, and some locally made sauces). My one gripe was the finals top was to taste honey at the Savannah Bee Company next tour, which my wife and I had done for free the day before. So technically it wasn’t really something that you can only get on the tour or even have to pay for. I wish we’d been able to try some dish that used the honey rather than just sample it.

Cindy was an amazing guide and the food was soooo good. I loved all the restaurants on the tour and we were able to learn a lot about the history of the city.
